I could finally feel the breeze brushing past me. After a month long humid temperature I could breathe with ease and freedom. My soul was unleashed. Indeed, it was. I was taking long breaths, for tonight is the night. It was not the scarlet fluid with micro-organisms running through my veins any more. But a scarlet declaration bubbling to burst out, for this slumber infested land needed to be shaken up with dazzling brilliancy. I fear it might be seen just as a twinkle but, later, I could have faded in regrets like a dead star.
I see flickering lights in the window of the house right in front of me. Probably it is a television. The house next to this one has open dark rooms which are ominously silent. The house next to mine has high walls, but not higher than ours. My balcony is notorious enough to let me have a perspective view with quick peeks here and there. I always hated these walls and thought that these can stand strong only till I let them. So, I grabbed a sledge hammer and hit it with all my might; but the hammer that forged me in what I am bounced back. I abhorred these walls even more now. They were blocking the sunlight and the cool breeze from entering my varandha. What good is dancing in the rain alone? I had never seen a rainbow. If I would move forth they will move too. If I would stand still, they, too, will remain unmoved. Once, I kicked the wall bare foot and hurt myself. I was tied to these walls the moment I was cut off the umbilical cord. After years of contemplation and plotting I concluded that these walls will never leave me, for I did not know how to climb to the top. I was not taught the trick of climbing. I realized that these walls will go where I go. They used to breathe with me. Suddenly, one day, horrific screams started to pierce through them, screams of yelp from those neighbours who were devoid of me.
I were to lose my cool someday, and this was it, followed by a calm and relaxed lull. I were to laugh, jump, and sleep to peace, for peace. My soul was unleashed. Indeed, it was. I was taking long breaths, for tonight is the night. So, I laughed to the walls, ran in maddening strides, and jumped off the balcony to sleep for my freed spirit. That night, the scarlet red added a darker shade to the night, only to shine brighter the next morning in dazzling brilliance.
